Kanamoto Group Human Rights Policy
The Kanamoto Group maintains its responsibility to respect human rights, a fundamental birthright of all
people, throughout its corporate activities. One of Kanamoto's action guidelines is “Maintain a
self-directed and independent mind.” “Independent” means setting firm rules for oneself, and judging and
acting in accordance with those rules. Kanamoto has established respect for human rights as one of its
action guidelines.
This policy clarifies the Kanamoto Group's stance with respect to human rights. It applies to all officers
and employees of the Kanamoto Group (including full-time, contracted, and temporary employees). We also
expect our business partners in the supply chain to understand and support this policy.
1. Respect for international norms
The Kanamoto Group supports and respects international human rights norms, including the International
Bill of Human
Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, UNICEF’s Children’s Rights and
Business
Principles, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and the Ten Principles of the UN Global
Compact.
2. Strict adherence to laws and regulations
We will adhere to all laws and regulations that may be in force in the countries and regions where we
conduct corporate
activities. We will also adhere to the spirit of those laws and regulations and to international rules and
social norms.
In the event of any conflict between internationally recognized human rights standards and local laws, we
will seek ways
to respect internationally recognized human rights standards.
3. Respect for human rights
The Kanamoto Group aims to reduce human rights violations to zero in all of its corporate activities. The
Group also
strives to resolve promptly any problems that may arise. The Group will fulfill its human right
responsibilities through
the following efforts.
(1) Human rights due diligence
Through the mechanisms of human rights due diligence, the Kanamoto Group will identify negative
influences on human rights and endeavor to prevent or mitigate them.
(2) Relief
If the Kanamoto Group finds that it has directly or indirectly exerted a negative influence on human
rights, we will take appropriate measures to provide relief.
